Lawn Mowing

Lawn Care

How We Mow Lawns at McKenzie Lawn and Snow

At McKenzie Lawn and Snow, we take pride in delivering clean, professional lawn cuts with attention to detail and care for your property. Here’s a breakdown of how we handle every mow:

Step 1: Pre-Mow Inspection

Before we start, we walk the entire lawn and check for:

  • Animal droppings: If there are just a few, we’ll mow around them. If there's a significant amount and the tools are available, we can pick them up for an additional $10 fee.

  • Objects on the lawn: Toys, hoses, sticks, and other items are moved aside to prevent damage to our equipment or your property.

  • Sprinkler heads: We look for any exposed or vulnerable sprinklers to avoid damaging them.

  • Eavestrough downspouts: If any are laying on the lawn, we gently lift and move them out of the way.

Step 2: Coordinated Cutting

We mow using a two-person system for a clean and efficient cut:

  • One team member mows in a clockwise pattern, which helps direct the clippings inward.

  • The second team member weed whacks in a counter-clockwise direction, working along edges and trimming areas the mower can’t reach.

This method ensures that the lawn mower lifts the grass blades, allowing the weed wacker to make a sharper, cleaner cut around edges, fences, and garden beds.

Step 3: Final Touch-Up

After mowing and trimming:

  • We use leaf blowers to blow any clippings and debris from sidewalks, driveways, and garden bed edges back onto the lawn, leaving your property clean and tidy.

Done and Looking Sharp

We finish with a quick inspection to make sure the job is complete, and your lawn is left looking well-maintained and professional.

Let us know if you have any sprinkler heads or areas we should be extra cautious around — we’re happy to accommodate!
